How we Raise our Puppies

All our dogs are beloved pets first and foremost, not kennel dogs. They live in our home and are part of all our daily activities. Both parents of any litter will have their full OFA CHIC clearances upon breeding (or the European equivalent if it's a foreign stud).

We want you to have as much trust in us in providing you with a healthy and temperamentally sound member of the family, as we do in you in raising that puppy up to its best potential.

We want to offer support and cheer you on for your puppy's entire life!
All puppies are born and raised for the first couple weeks in a quiet room our home. We go through Puppy Culture and Avidog protocols starting from Day 3, and transition to an interactive puppy area to play and develop their motor skills between 3-4 weeks. They are desensitized to "scary" new sounds from very early on, then get age-appropriate visits and socialization: cats, other dogs, and children as they mature. Once they are about 6 weeks they will go on short car rides and safe outings in a puppy stroller.

Our puppies don't go home until between 9-10 weeks, but around 6 weeks we start assigning each one to their new homes according to their structure, temperament evaluations, and your preferences to ensure the best match. Our puppy homes are allowed to have preferences in regards to sex and show/pet quality, but we do not allow our puppy homes to pick their puppies, unless it's between puppies that are very similar in temperament.
Our puppies are priced at $3500.

We are always available to answer any questions from all puppy homes, we are just a text or email away!

All our puppies go home with:
  • Puppy tote bag
  • Folder with their puppy contract and health records
  • Toys and chews
  • A blanket that smells like mom and littermates
  • A bag sample of the food they were eating
  • USB of individual and puppy photos
We breed first and foremost for stable, friendly pets, and we eagerly welcome pet-only homes to our Danube puppy family. However, preference is given to prospective show and/or performance homes, or pet homes who want to help us further our breeding program by owning an intact pup. Our breeding program will be based on contributing healthy and sound dogs to the North American Kooikerhondje population and protecting the future and integrity of the breed as a whole through breeding for health, structure, genetic diversity, and sound temperament.
We are more than happy to answer any questions about this!
